ICE is faced with death threats, criminal violence, disorder, harassment and defamation for enforcing the law in a country overrun with illegal aliens. If under that onslaught sometimes a few things go wrong, you can hardly blame ICE or the Administration. If an individual ICE officer does something they shouldn’t, then the responsibility rests with them alone.

First, the country isn't overrun with illegal aliens. And if so, the majority of them are engaged in peaceful livelihoods, so your moniker of "overrun" is an emotionalist appeal. But if a law on the books is bad, then its bad. There should be a proper process of due process. If you think just rounding people up and not allowing the law to work, then you are not arguing for "applying law" you are arguing for despotism. Only despots call it law and order, when they actually mean the reverse, a state-backed criminal gang.

And why mince words. The name ICE refers to both the individuals on the grounds and the laws that bring it into existence. Sure in most organizations, like the police, if a police officer goes rouge, it is a mark on him, not the entirety of the police organization. But the organization is certainly investigated to see how he got there and why he was able to go rouge. If he merely went rouge, then the blame rests solely with him. If its found his local precinct and/or beyond contributed to his rouge behavior, then more are blamed.

ICE is bad organization. Its very existence is wrong and antithetical to the original project of the US and to the foundation of the US, that of individual rights. If you want destruction of individual rights, you want destruction of the US and the west. If you want to rationalize away the stomping on of individual rights, then speaking to an "overrun" country is seeking to protect it while stabbing it in the back. This isn't defense. Its sophistry dressed as rule of law.

I expressed voters remorse shortly after Trump took office in the current term. However, the prospect of Kamala, Newsom, or even Mandami at the top of the Democratic ticket would assure my Republican vote next time, especially if Rubio is in the second chair. He’s the one bright spot in the Trump administration, and I think he actually would know a principle before he stumbled over it.
